ELECTION DAY FOR SCHOOL COUNCILLORS

Friday 18th September was Election Day at The Oval.  KS1 and KS2 children understood the importance of voting because Mrs Roberts had explained to them how adults vote for their leaders in democratic countries such as our own. Each class visited the polling station set up in the hall.  The children used official voting booths to select their Class representative from a choice of five candidates and posted their voting slip in the ballot box, just like adults do!  The children said the experience made them feel like adults.  They thought very carefully about who to vote for.
