What are your children learning?

 'The National Curriculum sets out the knowledge and skills that are important for our children to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.'

Nursery and Reception

In the foundation stages we follow the EYFS Framework covering 6 areas of learning: 

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Communication, Language and Literacy


Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Physical Development

Creative Development

Key Stage 1

Here at The Oval we follow the Sound Start Phonics scheme.

Year 1 to Year 6

In all other year groups we follow the National Curriculum, this covers all subjects including Maths, Literacy, Science, ICT, History, Geography, D&T, Music, Art, PE and PSHE. You can find out what we cover in school by clicking here

A Creative Curriculum
