The Oval Carnival 2009
Hello and welcome to The Oval’s Carnival Day Page
To Celebrate Black History Month, The Oval Primary School created a themed carnival.
On Friday 23rd October the entire staff and pupils of our school took part in a Carnival themed precession and all year groups involved produced fantastic carnival performances and decorative carnival clothing, musical instruments and various other themed items in the weeks leading up to the event.
After weeks of effort and dedication we took to the road with our procession on Friday morning and covered Deepmore Road, Church Road and Meadway and finally back into school.
Music was provided by Olly and Tobias with Drum, costumes and props supplied by Birmingham City Council. Our colleague from EAZ Colin provided music for the rear of the group from his car!
The Day was continued with parents coming into school, enjoying Caribbean cuisine, followed by watching dances and performances from visitors. Dancers from The International School did a fantastic performance followed by a Girls Choir and Steel Drum band from Archbishop Ilesely.
Finally performances by the year groups ended the day with a HUGE thank you to all staff, pupils and visitors who made this such a memorable occasion!
